What the game sends home

I'm Paul Booth, and I make Cardboard Conquest on my own as PB& Games. This page lists everything the game sends me and what happens to it. It covers every version: Steam, itch.io, the browser, Android, iPhone and iPad.

Last updated 14 October 2026.

Gameplay stats

The game sends me short reports about how you play: the cards and relics you pick, how each fight goes, how hard a fight felt if you rate it, how each run ends, and how long you have played in total. Each report carries the game's version, the name of your operating system, and a random ID the game makes up the first time it runs. The ID isn't built from your name, your email or anything about your device.

On Steam, reports also carry your Steam ID and Steam name, so I can match a bug report to the player who sent it. No other version has a name to attach.

You can turn the reports off at any time: Settings, then Share anonymous gameplay data. While you are offline they wait on your device, and they go out when you are back online.

Feedback you send

You can send me feedback from the feedback form, or from the note box the game offers when you quit or a run ends. Either way it sends what you write and the state of your run, so I can reproduce the problem. It carries the same version, system and ID as a stats report. The form also sends a picture of the screen from the moment you opened it, and a contact address if you add one.

Feedback goes out even with gameplay stats turned off, because you chose to send it. If I answer, the answer comes back inside the game as a letter.

Where it goes

Everything goes to a small server I run on Cloudflare. It doesn't store your IP address. When feedback arrives, the server posts a copy, screenshot included, to a private Discord channel so I see it on my phone. It also posts a one-line note there when someone starts playing, finishes a run or stops, naming them by Steam name or by the first eight characters of their random ID.

Reports aren't deleted on a timer. They stay until I delete them or you ask me to. I don't sell any of it, give it to advertisers, or use it to follow you across other apps or websites. The game has no ads and no third-party analytics.

Other services

  • Steam: Valve handles your account, achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves and co-op, under Valve's own privacy policy.
  • itch.io: the downloads and the browser version come from itch.io, under itch.io's own privacy policy.
  • Co-op by IP address: the game connects you straight to the other players' computers, so they can see your IP address.
  • iPhone and iPad: if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple passes crash reports on to me.

pbandgames.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or trackers. Its fonts, pictures and videos all come from pbandgames.com itself. Cloudflare hosts it, and like any web host it sees the IP address your browser connects from.

Deleting your data

Email [email protected]. Say which version you play and roughly when you played or sent feedback, and I'll delete everything I can match to you. Questions about this page go to the same address.

If what the game sends ever changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
